Next gen beckons.. Mario or Pikmin at launch and I'm there day one.
Alan Wake and Binary Domain are pretty much must-gets for me over the next month or so. The other ones.. yeah..
So where's Steel Battalion at?
Fair play to them for standing by it.
Not bad, still better to just get a year though..
The depth is in the fact the medium is interactive, that's what draws you in. Games can still have good stories, and they very often do, but they don't have to focus on that the way the lesser mediums do.
The point is that games can do what movies and books can, and much more, so they should concentrate on what they do best.
That's a great intro line, by the way.
And I agree with the opinion - developers need to stop trying to "teach us more about the human condition" and put the focus back on kickass action.
Unless there's been a bloodbath in England today that's gone completely unnoticed by the media, no-one 'killed them', lol.
Their recent games have been great, particular highlights being Viva Pinata and Nuts & Bolts.
At least the number 360 has some significance, 720 is just like 'lol double it', makes no sense.
Well, 1200 points is cheap for a game, compared to £40 in a shop. Some people are such misers.
New ones still get released into the arcades, and Sega has announced House of the Dead 3 and 4 for Move.
You could make a hell of a gunshooter if you combine the classic plastic pistol and Kinect so hopefully that will also happen at some point..
Judging by the hardcore games I've enjoyed on Kinect so far, and the slew of them coming out this year, I'd say its serving that audience pretty well.
It's one of the better ones of last year, at least give it that.. as far as side scrollers this generation go it doesn't rate amongst the likes of DKC R, Mega Man 9, Hard Corps Uprising and various Mario titles.
If anything it's doomed Rayman by becoming a colossal sales flop.
MS and Sony did right to add motion control systems after seeing how well Wii did, and it's made them Hester-loads of money and given us great games to play..
Obviously
Ignoring the tremendously cheesy video.. I think this'll be a fun game.
Saw the one in Bangor had closed a few days ago.. shame to see, for what must be dozens of young people out of work. Personally wouldn't shop there if you paid me.
Yep, looking really bright at the minute but we'll see. Big year for Kinect so hopefully it can win over a few more hearts and minds.
Some details on the next console would be nice too!
I know what you mean, but for me 'big AAA' is to do with quality -- for some, it means 'not downloadable' and 'not Kinect'. Bullshit.
Nice article.
